    Round Hill Club, located in Greenwich, Connecticut is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Equipment Manager to join its agronomy team. This is a rare opportunity to work at one of the few remaining Walter Travis-designed golf courses. The club is currently collaborating with architect Andrew Green to restore and revitalize Travis’s original design.

    The selected candidate will fill a pivotal role on the maintenance team and will be tasked with leading comprehensive preventative maintenance practices, and developing a team of two technicians, ensuring the equipment operation runs efficiently and effectively. This position reports directly to Golf Course Superintendent Matt Sumpter, a highly respected industry professional.

    INITIAL PRIORITIES OF POSITION:

    • Become familiarized with the maintenance staff and newly leased John Deere Equipment
    • Assess and refine the preventive maintenance program
    • Establish and implement equipment repair and maintenance schedules
    • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient maintenance facility
    • Review inventory and parts ordering processes
    • Build rapport with staff and support ongoing restoration efforts
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE:

    • Lead a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all golf course equipment
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts, and labor
    • Manage ordering and inventory of parts and supplies
    • Supervise and direct the work of two assistant mechanics
    • Communicate effectively with the Superintendent regarding equipment status
    • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree from an accredited 2- or 4-year college program a plus
    • 5+ years of experience as an Equipment Manager in a golf course setting
    • Experience with a wide range of turf maintenance equipment
    • Strong leadership and mentoring ability

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    • Annual Salary: $150,000 to $165,000

    MTE has recently signed with Husqvarna as their exclusive dealer of Robotic Mowing products for golf and sport turf Facilities in the Northeast. A primary focus of these positions will be bringing this new technology to the marketplace. This will involve prospecting, demonstrating, and working with customers through installations of their new GPS guided robotic mowers. Demand is high for this revolutionary product; applicants must have previous golf course maintenance experience so that we can hit the ground running.

    In addition to robotic mowing, representatives will be responsible for promoting and supporting the various other equipment brands that we offer. This includes Jacobsen Turf Equipment, Giant Loaders, Ventrac Tractors, Cushman Vehicles, Smithco Turf equipment and other allied lines.

    Training for various products is provided by the company.

    The territory for this position is Plymouth, Barnstable, Nantucket and Dukes counties MA.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and generate leads
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
    • Meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis
    • Present and demonstrate product features and benefits to prospects
    • Negotiate and close sales deals with customers
    • Provide excellent customer service and support
    • Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in the Golf/Turf Equipment Industry

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The Town of Yarmouth is searching for a Golf Mechanic to join their Golf Division team!

    Working under the direct supervision of Senior Golf Mechanic, the Golf Mechanic performs routine preventive maintenance on all course equipment; sharpens and grinds cutting units as required; backlaps and adjust mowers frequently as required to maintain a precision cut; performs routine housekeeping tasks.

    Assists Senior Golf Mechanic in the repair and maintenance of light and heavy golf course equipment including front end loaders, sweepers, sanders, trucks, automobiles, reel and blade type mowing equipment, turf trucks, etc.

    Under direction of Senior Golf Mechanic, tests, services, and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment. Assists Senior Golf Mechanic in performance of engine repair and electrical repair on gasoline and diesel­ powered vehicles. Performs basic repair and maintenance on trimmers, flymos, blowers, sod cutters, golf carts, seeders, spreaders, top dressers, etc.

    RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Technical School Diploma preferred

    Experience: Minimum 1 year's experience in maintaining and repairing motor equipment preferred. Physical requirements:

    Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions for long periods of time. Ability to drive turf equipment for long periods of time during all types of weather conditions. Incumbent is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move heavy objects. Must be able to conduct visual inspections while working in the field.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Massachusetts class D Driver's License is Required.

    Hoisting Engineer's License Grade 2a/1c is Required.
