    Concord Country Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the management team in 2018. This is an ideal position for an individual looking for an entry level management position at an upscale private golf facility. This position will provide the skills necessary to advance a career in the golf industry. The ideal candidate will have internship experience at a premiere golf facility, preferably in the Northeast United States. This individual must be motivated to work in the golf industry, and have a passion for the game of golf as well as maintenance of the course. This person possesses the skills necessary to assist the Superintendent with the management of a top private golf facility that demands championship quality playing conditions day in and day out. 

    Education Requirement: Must have completed a two or four-year program in a Turfgrass Science related field of study. 

    Experience: Must have at least two years’ experience in a supervisory position at a premiere golf facility, providing championship quality playing conditions daily. 

    GCSAA Member: Preferred 

    Special Skills: Must be a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and a passion for the golf maintenance business. The ideal candidate will have two or three seasons experience as an assistant or second assistant at a premiere golf facility, preferably in the Northeast. Must have, or be able to acquire within 6 months, a Supervisory level pesticide license in New Hampshire. Experience with soil moisture meters and hand watering procedures. The successful candidate must be a strong leader and team player with logical and effective decision-making skills to manage accordingly and in alignment with the direction set by the Superintendent. 

    Job Description: The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for: pesticide and fertilizer applications, course setup, scheduling and participating in daily mowing operations, leading a seasonal greenkeeping crew of up to 20, directing daily and weekly mowing and turf practices, assisting with agronomic record keeping in accordance with the Superintendents policy’s, responsible for the upkeep and aesthetic quality of all facility grounds, keeps maintenance buildings clean, safe, and orderly, able to identify and implement correct mowing patterns and practices, monitor, schedule and implement irrigation to all turf areas utilizing turf moisture sensors, knowledge of golf course equipment, excellent communication skills, training of staff on safe operation of maintenance equipment and enforcing the daily care of equipment and materials, participates in facility improvement projects both in-house and contracted.

    Course Description
    White Cliff’s Country Club is an 18 hole Par 62 golf course located on Cape Cod Bay.  The Club was re built in 1986 and consists of poa/bent greens and fairways, and bent grass tees. WCC is surrounded by an award winning condominium complex, and offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate.  In 2005 the club a 1.2 million dollar new Rain Bird irrigation system, and in 2014 completed a new environmental center and maintenance facility.     

    The applicant will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operation, all cultural management, course record keeping, and participate in training and supervising a staff of up to 20.  He/She will directly assist in the implementation of chemical and fertilizer schedules and applications; irrigation repairs and scheduling; and snow removal duties. 

     A.S. in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science, and 2- 4 years golf course experience related management experience is desirable. Must be a good communicator, Must have excellent computer and communication skills.  Must hold a valid driver’s license, a Massachusetts Pesticide license, and the ability to obtain a Massachusetts hoisting engineer’s license. 

    Salary will be commensurate with experience, health and dental, 401K, local and national dues, and educational seminars with management approval, paid vacation, uniforms, and golfing privileges.

    TGC at Sacconnesset, Falmouth, MA is seeking an individual with turf equipment experience. The position requires knowledge in repair and maintenance of all equipment assets associated with golf course maintenance, ability to support and implement company safety rules and effectively communicate with other staff members.

    Qualifications: The preferred applicant should have working knowledge of turf equipment including gasoline, diesel and electric motors, hydraulics, grinding and reels adjustment.  Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast paced environment and assist in maintaining a clean, safe and well organized shop and parts inventory area. Experience with Toro equipment is preferred.

    Compensation: Commensurate with experience

    Educational Requirements:

    Experience Requirements:
    Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years golf course experience. Experience with course setup, disease & pest monitoring / identification, chemical & fertilizer applications, irrigation troubleshooting and repairs, hand watering, crew supervision & training on basic golf course tasks.

    Special Requirements:
    Must have or be able to obtain a MA pesticide license. Individual must be self-motivated and have awareness for attention to detail.  Ability to communicate, organize, motivate and work with others on the staff of 28.

    Established in 1926, Oyster Harbors Club is a private, family oriented club located in Osterville, Massachusetts. The club has 420 members and is situated on an exclusive private island with an 18-hole top rated Donald Ross golf course, 5 Har-Tru tennis courts, a children’s day camp, and a private beach with cabanas. Within the last 4 years, improvements to the course include Master Plan and Restoration Project designed by Renaissance Golf Design and architect Tom Doak.
